I drove to Austin yesterday on business. The blue bonnets and Texas wild flowers were at their blooming peak. Around every corner and in every field was a blanket of color. Just when you think it couldn’t get more beautiful, around the next bend there was more brilliant shades of color. How fitting after Resurrection day that I’m reminded of this promise of life. Every spring life just explodes after being held back all winter. It’s as though life, once given permission, starts this domino effect that cannot be held back. Everywhere you look every day a new start of life begins. Something inside me comes alive at the sight of my budding grape vines in the back yard. Then I glance at the flowerbed where the Lilies and Gladiolus have green stalks peeking out from their bulbs. The peach tree in the front yard bloomed, and if the blooms are any indication then we will see an abundance of fruit this year.
The life of spring brings a skip to my step, a song in my heart and joy all over my face. It makes me grin from ear to ear. It’s the same feeling I get when we help bring new life to old buildings. These buildings have been in their winter season and we have the privilege of being the spring fairies that wake them up and initiate life once again. We know it is there (this life I speak of) and we so love to reveal the possibilities. I love my job…………
