YES! I have your attention. Ok, ok, to clarify, I took a trip to Rome, Georgia. I had a great time and the weather was perfect. The food was excellent and the Romans were wonderful. My hat goes off to The Georgia Trust for throwing a fine event and showcasing the beautiful city of Rome. I’m most impressed with the efforts of The Georgia Trust for their very engaged and determined approach of restoring history in their state. This was so inspirational to see that I plan to pass on their passion and organization to other State Historic Preservation nonprofit organizations. Equally encouraging is how they ensure that no project is left behind. Once a commitment is made to a project, they stick with it until it is finished. That sometimes means difficult choices are made, like cutting back on an already slim staff in order to stay on track with goals. Rave reviews go out to Mark C. McDonald, the President and his staff for their hard work. I can’t wait to attend the next Ramble. Go here
to see a Flickr file of the trip.
